I know that for many people therapy is a "last resort" before making some significant life changes. Because of this, I don't believe in wasting any time. I will work with you from day one to set therapeutic goals and work toward them. I pride myself on maintaining a great working relationship with my clients full of trust and honesty. My clients know if I say something, it's because I believe they need to hear it.

I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and maintain a private practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition to private practice I have served as an educator and program director for the C.O.P.E. seminar which educates parents about the effects divorce has on children. This class is mandated by the state of Nevada for all parents going through the divorce process. I also am a public speaker, and have presented on a variety of topics at different businesses and events.

My life has afforded me some great experiences that enhance my practice far beyond my formal education. I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a step-daughter, a friend, and a member of a large extended family. I am bi-racial, involved in an interracial marriage, and therefore understand the impact race and culture can have on a relationship.

I earned my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and my Bachelors Degree in Psychology (with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies) at the University of Nevada, Reno. During this time I became a member of the Delta Gamma Fraternity, a membership I still hold today. Delta Gamma offers to women of all ages a rich heritage based on principles of personal integrity, personal responsibility and intellectual honesty. Its primary purpose is to foster high ideals of friendship, promote educational and cultural interests, create a true sense of social responsibility, and develop the finest qualities of character.

Relationships can be challenging. They take effort, communication, and compromise. This can be difficult when you feel like you and your partner continuously argue, have lost that "spark," and no one is feeling heard or understood in the relationship. In couples counseling we will work together to bridge the gap that may exist in your relationship. We will work to improve communication and understanding in the relationship, enhance intimacy, regain trust, and find the love that you feel may be lost. I have completed Level 3 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work.

Our life experiences make us who we are. Some experiences enhance our lives for the better, and some hinder us from finding our true potential. Are you struggling with something that has happened to you? Past abuse, a broken heart, the loss of a loved one, family dysfunction, coming out to your family, transitioning... In individual counseling we can work together to heal issues of the past, and present, to work towards a brighter future.

Families come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes they run smoothly, and sometimes they can be chaotic; especially when there is a divorce or separation. Divorce effects everyone involved; couples, children, and extended family. Family counseling can help the couple move from an intimate relationship to a co-parenting relationship. Parenting is difficult, especially when you feel that you and your co-parent aren't meeting half way. I can help to turn the "ex" into a "co-parent" and help the family thrive, even when the parents are not together.
